MPI operates two separate R&D centers – one inside the Nagahama Plant (Nagahama City, Shiga Prefecture) and the other within the Hiratsuka Plant (Hiratsuka City, Kanagawa Prefecture). The Nagahama Center houses the Support No. 1 Group, Core Technology No. 1 Department and Development Department, while the Hiratsuka Center contains the Support No. 2 Group and Core Technology No. 2 Department. The two centers pursue basic research, product development, materials evaluation and other key work as technology sourcing bases. |
